JEE Main 2027 Registration Opens: NTA Dates and the Application Checklist

NTA announces JEE Main 2027 Session 1 applications. Read the regular and late deadlines, correction dates and a practical checklist without invented eligibility rules.

JEE Main 2027 Session 1 registration has been announced, and the deadline is now a date to plan around rather than a social-media prediction. NTA’s notice dated 24 October 2026 sets the regular application window from 24 October to 22 November, with the January examination scheduled across six dates.

For students and families, the useful next step is not to rush into the first registration link forwarded in a message. It is to read the current official notice, check the applicable paper and information bulletin, and submit one accurate application through the authorised process. This explainer separates the announced schedule from practical preparation advice; it does not fill in unverified eligibility rules or promise admission.

Key points

  • The regular Session 1 application window ends on 22 November 2026 at 11:50 PM.
  • The regular fee-transaction deadline is also 22 November at 11:50 PM.
  • NTA announces a separate late-submission period from 23 to 26 November with an additional ₹500 late fee.
  • The correction window is scheduled for 27–29 November, ending at 11:50 PM on the final date.
  • The announced January examination dates are 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 January 2027.
  • The April session will have a separate application opportunity. This announcement concerns Session 1, not an automatic registration for both sessions.

What NTA has actually announced

Source note

The announcement comes from the National Testing Agency’s JEE Main portal and its dated public notice. The portal displays the Session 1 application entry and links the notice inviting online applications. That primary document is the basis for the dates below, rather than an estimated timetable copied from an older exam cycle.

The distinction matters because some secondary pages can remain behind an official update. An article saying registration is still expected is not stronger evidence than a newly published notice on the conducting authority’s own portal. Students should compare the year, session and issue date before acting on a screenshot.

NTA describes two sessions for the 2027–28 academic cycle: Session 1 in January and Session 2 in April. Paper 1 concerns undergraduate engineering admission, while Paper 2 concerns architecture and planning. Choosing a paper should follow the current information bulletin and the student’s intended course, not a generic checklist that treats every applicant identically.

The announced Session 1 timetable

Source note

Stage Schedule in NTA’s 24 October notice
Regular online application 24 October–22 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM on the final date
Regular fee transaction By 22 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM
Late application period 23–26 November 2026, with ₹500 additional late fee
Late fee transaction deadline 26 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM
Correction period 27–29 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM on the final date
Examination-city announcement Scheduled for 30 December 2026
Admit-card download Scheduled for 13 January 2027
Examination dates 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 January 2027

These are announced dates, not claims that city information or admit cards are already available. A planned download date does not tell an individual applicant their allotted city, paper, shift or examination day. Those details must be checked against the applicant’s actual official documents when issued.

The late-submission provision should not be confused with an unlimited extension. It has its own final date, fee and transaction deadline. This article reports that provision because it appears in the current notice; it is not advice to postpone an otherwise complete application until the late window.

Likewise, a correction period does not mean every field can necessarily be changed. The applicable correction instructions and permitted fields must be checked when NTA publishes them. Do not assume that a mistake can be repaired later simply because a correction date is on the calendar.

Prepare the information before opening the form

Source note

A sensible preparation routine begins with reading the current information bulletin alongside the public notice. Check the applicable eligibility conditions, paper choice, required documents, photograph and signature instructions, and the fee category relevant to the applicant. This is general preparation advice; the short announcement alone does not establish all those requirements.

Keep the information needed for the form together so that names and other details can be compared carefully with the relevant documents. Where the form requests a document upload, follow the specification displayed in the official instructions rather than a size or format remembered from a previous year. Avoid relying on a coaching poster as the final authority for an application field.

Before final submission, review the completed information as a whole. A successful payment message and an accurately submitted form are different things to verify. Retain the official application or confirmation record provided by the process and check the recorded transaction status; do not assume that a bank debit alone proves that every application step is complete.

One application and a reliable contact route

Source note

NTA’s notice explicitly instructs candidates to submit only one application. Duplicate forms are not a safe workaround for an error or a delayed transaction, and the authority warns of action against candidates who submit more than one. If something appears wrong, use the official instructions and help route rather than creating another registration casually.

The notice also says the email address and mobile number should belong to the candidate or their parents or guardians. This keeps official communication accessible to the family responsible for the application. An agent’s contact details can leave an applicant dependent on somebody else for information that NTA sends directly.

As a practical security measure, do not share an OTP, account password or payment details with someone claiming they can guarantee an exam city, score or admission. A timetable announcement creates demand for information, but it does not create a legitimate paid shortcut around examination or admission rules. Verdvit does not collect application documents, fees or credentials.

January and April are separate application decisions

Source note

The current notice allows candidates to apply for Session 1 and pay its examination fee. NTA says a separate opportunity will be provided for Session 2, using the same application number where a candidate has already registered for Session 1. The later session’s notification and application opening must be followed separately.

Students who intend to apply only for April should not interpret this January announcement as proof that the April form is already open. The notice points readers to the information bulletin for the tentative Session 2 schedule and says a later notification will be issued. Tentative planning and an active application window are not the same status.

For now, the clearest action is to organise the January application against the actual regular deadline and verify every requirement through the current official material. After the form is complete, return attention to preparation rather than repeatedly checking speculative posts about extensions. Bottom line

The confirmed change is that NTA has announced JEE Main 2027 Session 1 applications and published the schedule. Use the dated notice for deadlines, the current information bulletin for detailed requirements, and the applicant’s eventual official documents for their allotted examination information. Registration is a procedural step—not a guarantee of eligibility, a score or admission.

Reporting and image notes

NTA’s official public notice, 24 October 2026

The current official NTA JEE Main portal and its 24 October 2026 Session 1 public notice were opened. The notice supports the regular application and fee deadline, additional ₹500 late provision, correction schedule, planned city/admit-card dates, January exam dates and separate Session 2 opportunity. Announced future dates are not claims that documents have already been released; later notices may supersede them. Exact source URLs are retained in Verdvit’s private editorial record.

Scope of the procedural and safety explanation

The official portal currently displays the 2027 Session 1 application entry. Detailed eligibility, upload specifications and category-specific fees must be read in the current information bulletin; this article deliberately does not invent them. Checklist and credential-safety paragraphs are Verdvit’s practical explanatory guidance, not additional NTA rules or an admission guarantee. A stale secondary report saying applications were still pending was not used to override the primary notice. Exact source URLs are retained in Verdvit’s private editorial record.
